"Someone’s following us…" Liz murmured, looking through the rear-view mirror as she veered a sharp left into a path in the woods.
"How about our favorite?" she suggested, smiling.
She nodded a little bit again. “Sure …” She loved the fact that she was smiling … but she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She walked over and put in the movie, pressing play before sitting back down next to her again.
Liz scooted as close to her as she could without touching her. She leaned back on the couch.
Dominique looked over to her slightly … almost touching but couldn’t. She lowered her head a little bit before looking back to the movie with tears on the brim of her eyes as she fidgeted with her fingers.
She looked over and saw her crying. She nuzzled her head on the back of the couch and bent her neck so it was as close as it could be to her shoulder.
She let the tears fall with a small and quiet sigh. “I … I can’t do this. I can’t just sit here and watch a movie when in like three hours you’ll … be gone for the rest of my life.” she told her.
"Then…what do we do?" she asked carefully.
"I don’t … I don’t know!” she felt like pulling her hair out. “But you’ll be gone and I don’t … I just don’t know …” she mumbled. “I don’t know ..”
